Round iv: Characters' Pasts
-
When an alien device makes Jack re-live his worst memories, Ianto and Gwen must squad upwardly to save him - and support him. - Jack'southward missing two years, connected in some way to the Time Lords.
- The 1999!TW team celebrates Jack'south centenary with the Institute.
- Gwen and John have met before - but neither of them remember it. Bonus points for Gwen being bossy (in a good mode).
- Donna visits the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, and meets Torchwood - and Jack.
-
Gwen finds out that there's an conflicting artefact that'southward been passed downwardly her family tree as an heirloom. It does something strange to her. - Jack's lived all through the twentieth century - what if he has a kid out there... a grown-upward child? A crossover, please, with whatsoever character from House.
- Crossover with the SG universe: investigating strangeness around a US military base in the UK at some betoken in the 1970s, Jack encounters a young George Hammond. Tin be gen or slash.
- A fic explaining Jack's angry/defensive reaction to finding Ianto 'stalking' him when he was trying to inveigle his way into Torchwood.
- After Gwen accidently kills the rapist in Ghost Machine, and Jack is comforting her past the Bay, I would dear him to tell her a story of how he accidentally killed someone - maybe as a recruit during his grooming days with the Fourth dimension Agency, perhaps a hit gone incorrect. Revealing something about himself.
- Jack's lived all through the twentieth century - what if he has a child out there... a grown-up child? A crossover, please, with whatsoever graphic symbol from Angel.
- Either through time travel, or through Jack's long life, i of the team members is the biological child of any grapheme from either Torchwood or Doctor Who.
- When Suzie beginning decided to start killing people then she could report the glove further.
- A story about Gerald and Harriet during World State of war 1.
- A story about Jack's friendship with the transgendered woman Vanessa, as mentioned in Greeks Begetting Gifts.
- A long time ago, pre Torchwood Gwen met Jack and they had an encounter. She doesn't remember for some reason, might exist retcon, might not. What happened and why doesn't she remember. Bonus points if yous add together in her remembering it while at T3.
- Jack and John (extra points if you take them using other names!) as Time Agents dealing with a example of unauthorised time travel. Be equally nice or as nasty as you similar - these are, afterwards all, men who find the thought of murder rehab securely funny....
-
We've seen how Jack recruited the others, but how did he persuade Suzie Costello to join the team? - When Tosh met Mary in Greeks Begetting Gifts, it wasn't the first time. She'd met Mary years ago, but Mary had wiped her memory afterwards. Tell me what happened the first time they met.
- The Time Agency'south top agents: Jack Harkness, John Hart and Susan Foreman.
- Gwen and Ianto find out about Jack's travels with the Doctor.
- A more believable rewrite of Tosh'due south back story (as seen in 'Fragments'). Because I remain unconvinced that that would ever actually happen. UNIT are the proficient guys!
- On the TW website, we're given a stock take of the morgue'southward longer-term inhabitants, including those TW personel in in that location:
"Bays xi-37: Onetime Torchwood personnel. Notables include Phillip Lyle (xi), Alice Guppy (12), Harriet Derbyshire (15), James Lees (19), Terry Marriott (22), Sharmila Seth (27), Alex Hopkins and his team (31-35), Suzie Costello (37)."
Assuming these were all filled in guild, who is in Bay 36? And how did they become involved with Jack?
- Tosh must take gotten back in touch with her mother, even though Jack had given her the "postcards only" rule; in Helm Jack Harkness, she was going to a family unit function. How long did she wait before getting back in affect? Did Jack know about it? If not, when and how did he find out?
- Jack and John'due south two weeks/5 years. Why was Jack willing/able to chalk information technology up to 2 weeks and walk away. Why is John withal stalking him all this fourth dimension afterwards? Could information technology have something to do with Jack's comment in "Everything Changes" nigh never wanting to go meaning again?
-
Explain this, from the TW website: "Bay x: An intelligent bear, found by the team upwardly Snowdon in 1937. Several studies accept been done, nobody'due south explained how he got like that or indeed what he was doing up Snowdon." - Jack comes back to Cardiff afterwards WWI and meets Harriet Derbyshire.
- Long before Jack met the Doctor, he had an run into with another Time Lord. He merely didn't realise information technology. Who was it, and what exactly happened?
- Jack is, for some reason, forced to picket the picture Clueless when it comes out in cinemas in 1995.

Jack: *scoffs* As if!) -

After he flees Jack in tears, upon existence accustomed into TW3, he sits with Lisa and tells her he'due south done information technology. He's been accustomed by the man and team he is ultimately going to beguile. -
That scene in Fragments, where the Psycho!Victorian Torchwood lady shoved the hankie down Jack'southward throat to subdue him...maybe of all the means he'due south died since, that gets him the most because information technology was washed with deliberate, sadistic malice (she got have knocked him out or shot him). A similar close telephone call leads to subsequent freak out, and Ianto coaxing details out of Jack and providing condolement. Basically, Ianto realising that someone Jack's age is always going to have unintentional secrets, and lots of potential for 'freak out' moments. -
A story about Jack's time with the travelling bear witness he joined. -
The team get to the funfair / funfair (including Rhys) and finish up somehow double daring each other to go their fortunes told. Jack's not keen just gets roped in somehow, and the woman manages to suspension free the lock on his missing two years memories which were there all the fourth dimension just hidden deeply. Did the Fourth dimension Agency practise it? Was it the Doctor, or maybe Jack himself? Why? Did Jack know something, or had something so traumatic happened to him that the memories had to go for him to be able to function? Team back up and comfort every bit a event. - Tosh's first day with Torchwood.
